Beginner: Kalymnos, Greece
One of Europe's most popular destinations for climbers who are relatively new to outdoor climbing. The Greek island is known for its large number of well-bolted sport routes, straightforward access to crags and climbing-friendly atmosphere. Areas such as Arginonta Valley are particularly popular. Another advantage is the climate. Kalymnos enjoys mild temperatures and reliable weather for much of the year, making it a destination where visitors can spend less time worrying about conditions.

Intermediate: Arco, Italy
Once climbers become comfortable outdoors, many start looking for more variety. Arco, located at the northern end of Lake Garda, offers exactly that.
The area is home to hundreds of routes across numerous crags, allowing climbers to experience different styles of rock and increasingly complex climbing. It is often considered a natural next step for those looking to move beyond beginner-friendly destinations while still enjoying well-developed climbing infrastructure and easy access.
Those who are interested in the landscape but don't yet feel ready for more demanding climbing routes can also explore the region's famous via ferratas, which provide an alternative way to experience the area's dramatic cliffs.

Advanced: Chamonix, France
For experienced climbers, Chamonix represents a very different type of challenge.
Situated beneath Mont Blanc, it is one of the most important centres for alpine climbing and mountaineering in the world. Here, climbers encounter glaciers, exposed ridgelines and technical mountain terrain where route-finding, weather awareness and experience become as important as physical ability.
Weather conditions play a major role in the mountains and can change rapidly, even during the summer season. For those unfamiliar with the area, hiring a qualified mountain guide is often recommended. Accommodation in alpine huts should also be booked well in advance, particularly during peak climbing months when demand is high.
