Disclosure
Jade Peak writes about places, experiences, and the people behind them, so hotels, operators, and companies come up often. We have no financial relationship with any entity named in this article. If that ever changes, we'll say so plainly, right here at the top.
Mexico City is one of those places where the list never seems to end. The people, the food, the culture you arrive with a plan and leave with twenty new places saved on Google Maps. As always at Jade Peak, we went looking for what's new across wellness, culture, adventure, and design. So if your list wasn't long enough already, we're about to make it worse.
Xinú
Xinú immediately caught our attention. The brand creates perfumes and candles inspired by Latin America's botanical heritage, but what we found particularly interesting is its focus on reuse. Once finished, the beautifully designed vessels are meant to have a second life rather than ending up in a bin. The bottles themselves feel like small pieces of art, the kind of object you would happily keep on a shelf long after the fragrance is gone. It's the sort of discovery that works equally well whether you're a local looking for a thoughtful gift or a visitor wanting to take home something a little more meaningful than a souvenir.
Nima Local House
Nima Local House is how we accidentally discovered one of our favourite spas in Mexico City. Hidden in Roma Norte, the boutique hotel combines thoughtful design with a strong appreciation for local craftsmanship and female-led creativity. The rooms are inspired by different Mexican designers and artists, giving the property a personality that feels very different from a traditional luxury hotel.
What we also loved is that their website might be one of the most useful hotel websites we've come across. It is packed with recommendations on where to eat, what to do, how to move around the city, and local experiences. Honestly, by the time you've finished browsing, you almost don't need to ask reception anything.
Valle de Bravo
And for those looking for something a little more adventurous, there's paragliding over Valle de Bravo. We know adventure means different things to different people, but jumping off a mountain attached to a giant wing definitely qualifies in our books. Located a few hours from Mexico City, Valle de Bravo has become one of the world's most recognised paragliding destinations thanks to its weather conditions and spectacular lake views.
And afterwards? You've more than earned those tacos. Whether it's birria, al pastor, or whatever catches your eye at the nearest stand, we're not judging.
