Tokyo has become the city everyone talks about in recent years as a place to get inspired by. And no wonder: Japanese culture continues to captivate everyone. During our time in Japan, we made it a point, as we do in other cities, to seek out the best spots for wellness, culture, sport, and adventure, always picking the places that stand out to us and maybe to you.
Head Spa Tokyo
Head Spa Tokyo is in different locations and is one of those gems you want to experience when in Asia. I love it because if you’re not Japanese, it’s incredibly friendly with English, but without feeling completely touristy. Famous for their signature head treatments, the spa focuses on scalp health, circulation, and pure relaxation, offering a mini-reset after a long day of work or after pounding the streets of Tokyo like a true city explorer.

ttoan
Straight from the Michelin Guide, but easy on the budget. Ittoan (2-16-10 Higashijujo, Kita-ku, Tokyo, 114-0001, Japan) is one of those places that reminds you how much care can go into something that looks like incredibly simple soba noodles. We’re big fans of soba noodles made from buckwheat and, honestly, if they’re not already part of your diet, they might be worth exploring.
One of the things that makes Ittoan special is the relationship the chef has built with farmers across Japan, constantly learning about different varieties, regions, and techniques. We’d recommend the Sanshu Seiro, which is essentially a tasting experience of three different sobas served side by side. Each one has its own texture, aroma, and character depending on where it comes from and how it has been milled and prepared. It’s the kind of meal that makes you appreciate how seriously Japan takes even its most traditional dishes.

Chavaty
And for tea or cha or matcha lovers on our team, Chavaty is a must-visit. Inspired by the blend of different teas, the brand celebrates tea culture through carefully sourced leaves and beautifully designed sp

aces. It’s the kind of place where a simple cup of ice cream becomes a mindful, unforgettable moment perfect whether you’re a local, expat, or traveler.
Chavaty isn’t just about tea, though: they also serve soft-serve ice cream infused with tea flavors like hojicha, a roasted green tea with a toasty, earthy richness. The ice cream is carefully crafted using leaves from different prefectures depending on the season, so the flavor stays balanced year-round. It’s a sweet stop while wandering the backstreets of Omotesando, ideal for cooling off in summer or just indulging your matcha obsession.
